Grades

BoulderMap uses the V-Scale to grade the difficulty of boulder problems.

Generally problems should be assigned the grade that was given by whoever made the first ascent, or a grade may be a concensus from climbers who have sent the problem.

Fontainebleau Grades

For the sake of consistency, BoulderMap does not support the Font Scale. If a problem has an assigned Font grade, this should be converted to the equivalent V-Scale grade when it is added to the map.

Beginner Grades

BoulderMap does not support grades lower than V0 (such as VB, VE, or VM). This is to avoid overpopulating the map with low grade problems that are generally numerous and of poor quality.
